FAQ
Answers to commonly asked questions
Why can I only photograph the Milky Way on specific dates?
The Earth, Sun, and Moon must align for optimal night sky photography conditions during the “Milky Way Season.”
This happens for about 70 nights each year at a comfortable hour—a small window to capture the stunning night sky.
Can I join if I don’t have a camera?
Yes, absolutely! I provide spare cameras and lenses for you to use during the Masterclass to capture beautiful night sky images. Beginners are welcome as I guide you through the entire process.
How do I book a spot?
Fill out the booking form above on this page to secure your spot. Spaces are limited, so book as soon as possible!
Can my partner join me?
Yes, but you’ll need to book two spots. You can borrow one of my cameras or share one during the session.
Can I learn about the stars, nebulas, and objects in my photos?
Definitely! Feel free to ask any astronomy questions during our night under the stars.
Is there an age limit for the Masterclass?
No age limit—teenagers are welcome! I teach from a beginner’s level, guiding everyone step-by-step. Children under 16 can join with an accompanying adult, requiring only one ticket if the adult is a non-participating guardian.
If both child and parent wish to participate, two spots must be booked.
What happens if it is overcast?
The Masterclass will alway continue as planned. Each date is carefully planned to align the Earth, Moon, Milky Way core, and foreground subject. Weather forecasts are not predictable far in advance, and by booking, you agree to the weather policy below, no refunds or cancellations, as you’ll still learn valuable techniques.
You will continue to learn important techniques and aspect of night photography in the Masterclass and leave with beautiful images.
-
Scattered clouds add drama to a photograph. We will capture the elements the night brings patiently waiting for gaps.
-
If heavy clouds are present, light painting and steel wool fire photography.
-
If rain occurs, the Masterclass will continue indoors continuing to learn the important techniques and aspects of astrophotography. The main goal of the Masterclass is to teach technique and skills, which can be achieved indoors.
By booking your Masterclass spot you are agreeing the Masterclass weather policy.
What happens if I need to cancel?
You can cancel anytime, but refunds are subject to the following penalties, calculated from the date we receive your email request. By booking, you agree to this cancellation policy:
-
More than 45 days: Full refund minus a 10% booking fee.
-
14 to 45 days: 50% refund of your booking fee.
