The skies were clear and full moon aligned with the iconic Newcastle lighthouse. An event I have been planning for years however clouds blaneted the sky on previous attempts.
I arrived at my location, set up my telescope and two cameras to capture this event. Bystanders were amused watching me carry the 40kg telescope solid steel mount until I acheive alignment by setting up in specific locations. They become more amused when they saw three more cameras setup nearby and wondered what was occuring. Nobody knew a full moon was about to rise before them.
I captured a timelpase of this event in the video attached and a still photograph of the moon illuminating and reflecting on the water with the lighthouse.
