Just outside Orange, Lake Canobolas is filled with water and the Milky Way stars hang above.
In recent years, the lake has had little water unfortunately due to drought; howver, I was fortunate to arrive when the lake was almost full restoring the beautiful landscape back to life.
The lake delivered a fantastic night under the stars as the Milky Way glistened above. The Milky Way was high in the sky vertically and I wanted to frame the image to showcase the distinction of lights and darks.
In the distance, the silhoutte of the trees smoothed the transistion from lights to darks while the reflections on the water soften the image.
It was a composition you could only see at night.
On a side note - whilst at this lake earlier in the day, I had organised to met with local community man named Toney Fitzgerald who shared with me his amazing story. I am very grateful for getting the chance to meet him and listening about his good life and journey.
I frequently travel around Australia I enjoy immersing myself within the community and listening to fascinating stories. Toney's was a spectacular one.
