Photographed at Spoon Bay Rocks at the start of the Milky Way Season, the Milky Way begins to rise above the ocean.
Magentas, greens, blue and oranges colours lit up in the atmosphere above the horizon for a colourful display. This is due to charged particles in our thermosphere.
I found a nearby rock to compliment the Milky Way to draw the viewer upwards from the landscape. It was a lone singular rock which stood out from the others with water softly lapping around.
Also in this image, the Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Complex to the left of the Milky Way is seen with the gas and dust lanes easily visible.
